We Do

The Parking Facilities Division (PFD) operates and maintains 116 parking facilities throughout the City of Los Angeles. These facilities range from small surface lots with as little as 9 parking spaces to underground parking structures with over 3,000 parking spaces such as the Hollywood Highland lot.

In addition to regular transient parking, PFD offers monthly parking permits available for use at several of the lots under our jurisdiction and offers short term and long term permits on an as-needed basis.

  • 24 facilities operated and staffed by a contracted professional Parking Operator
  • 41 metered facilities with new multi-space meters
  • 14 single spaced metered facilities
  • 32 free lots
  • 5 free and metered combination lots

LADOT operates approximately 116 public parking facilities throughout the City of Los Angeles with more than 11,400 parking spaces. Our parking lots and garages support retail activity and provide convenient customer parking.

Do valid disabled placard/license plate holders have to pay for parking at the LADOT parking lots?

Individuals with valid disabled placards/license plates DO have to pay the parking fees at a parking lot or garage with an attendant or pay-on-foot parking equipment.

Individuals with valid disabled placards/license plates DO NOT have to pay the parking fees when parking at a parking lot or garage with single or multi-space parking meters, however all of the same restrictions as on-street metered parking still apply.

Note

All individuals, including those with a monthly parking permit, must adhere to the Abandoned Vehicle Law, where no car can be parked for 72-hours in a row. Any vehicle that has been parked on a city lot for 72-hours or more can be reported as an abandoned vehicle.

Report an Abandoned Vehicle:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • After hours please leave a voicemail for a return call the next business day.

You can report an abandoned vehicle online or by telephone.

You will be asked to provide:

  • Vehicle location (full address)
  • Vehicle license plate number
  • Vehicle make
  • Vehicle color

An LADOT traffic officer will respond and if the vehicle is determined to be abandoned it will be towed an impounded. Vehicles without an engine, wheels, or some other part necessary for safe driving, subjects the vehicle to immediate impounding.

Certain parking lots do not allow overnight parking. Check Parking in LA for overnight and other parking restrictions.
